Message to Students and Parents
Welcome to the fifth grade! We hope you’ll join us as we become pioneers in the 1800s, traveling in wagon trains across the United States and developing geographical skills while hunting for artifacts across the globe – all without having to leave our classroom. During science class we explore biology, the human body, earth science, and physics. Through social studies we discover what America was like from the first explorers up to the Civil War. Language arts will include writing for authentic audiences using a class creative writing blog, in addition to challenging our spelling skills and improving our reading fluency and comprehension skills. We continue to foster our creativity in art class as we learn about master artists and practice their techniques. Character development and God’s love and care for us are woven throughout the subject areas that we will explore.

Hobbies/Interests:
I love playing instruments such as piano and ukulele. It makes my mind calm and my heart sing for Jesus. I also enjoy hiking on a mountain and just being in nature, meditating.
My Message:
"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might" (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
I always say to my students, "No matter what, keep trying," because the moment you try, you are pursuing a lifelong goal. Looking forward to continuous learning and discoveries with you this school year!
