    Teacher's Aide


    Position Title: Teacher’s Aide (TA)
    Reports To: Principal / Assigned Classroom Teacher(s)


    Position Purpose:
    The Teacher’s Aide is responsible for supporting the academic, emotional, and physical well-being of students. Working collaboratively with lead teachers, the TA provides instructional support, supervision, and a safe, nurturing learning environment that aligns with the school's mission and values.

     

    1. Instructional & Academic Support
      • Targeted Learning Support: Assist lower-grade teachers in meeting diverse student learning needs.
      • Individualized Tutoring: Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring as directed by the lead teacher.
      • Collaborative Planning: Partner with classroom teachers on lesson planning and instructional preparation.
      • Assessment Assistance: Assist with grading papers and tracking student progress efficiently.

         

    2. Classroom Management & Environment
      • Classroom Supervision: Supervise students in the classroom, during transitions, and during outdoor or extracurricular activities to ensure safety at all times.
      • Duty of Care: Maintain continuous supervision of assigned students until they are safely picked up by a parent/guardian or transferred to bus monitors.
      • Learning Environment Maintenance: Help maintain an organized, clean, and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
      • Educational Displays: Create and maintain attractive, educational bulletin boards that highlight student work.

         

    3. Spiritual Leadership & School Culture
      • Mission Alignment: Uphold and promote Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) beliefs, Christian values, and spiritual standards in the classroom.
      • Positive Role Modeling: Demonstrate Christian courtesy, respect, love, and friendship in all interactions with students.
      • Community Participation: Attend and actively participate in morning Staff Worship.

         

    4. Professional & Institutional Responsibilities
      • Punctuality: Arrive on time and fully prepared for all daily duties, meetings, and student arrivals.
      • Meeting Attendance: Attend scheduled staff meetings (including occasional afternoon or evening sessions) and participate in school committees as assigned.
      • School Events: Support the school community by attending designated after-school student functions.
      • Policy Compliance: Adhere strictly to all policies and guidelines outlined in both the TAAS Staff Handbook and Student Handbook.
      • Adaptability: Serve as an emergency substitute teacher when needed, and assist other teachers or departments as directed by the Principal.
